Advisory for Indian Nationals Regarding Bulgarian Residence Permits/Visas
(02.04.2020)

According to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry’s order No. COV-54-00-1 dated 27 March, 2020:

I.      Bulgarian residence ID cards which expire from 13 March, 2020 to 31 October, 2020 will be extended by 6 months. However, an application for renewal of residence permit should be submitted within 14 days of cancellation of the state of emergency. A new residence permit can be issued even before the expiry of the extended 6-month period at the request of an individual.

II.     People who are outside Bulgaria and whose long-term residence permit expires within the declared state of emergency may enter Bulgaria without a visa within 14 days of the cancellation of the state of emergency. (However, all Indian nationals are nevertheless strongly advised to contact their nearest Bulgarian Embassy/Consulate for a confirmation in this regard before making any travel plans.)

III.     Indian nationals who are currently in Bulgaria on a short term visa should apply for its renewal before its expiry.
